Maria Alm in Winter - 150KM of Skiing and Snowboarding

In winter, Maria Alm is part of the Hochkoenig ski area with 150km of piste and the large Ski Amade area with 860km. Considered an excellent ski resort for beginners and intermediates, the pistes offer some cruisy and some slightly more challenging runs. Close to home, the ski area stretches across Maria Alm, Aberg, Hintermoos, Hinterthal as far as Dienten and Muhlbach am Hochkoenig. What it gives you is a great range of skiing for all levels, with a good mix of blue, red and black slopes. Snowfall is good, and is supplemented by plenty of snow cannons, using the latest technology to maximise your enjoyment of the mountains. There area also several snowparks with boxes, halfpipes and rails for the more technically advanced boarders or skiers.

The Hochkoenig ski area is particularly good for snowboarding as there are very few flat sections of piste and there is no requirement to use a drag or button lift in the whole ski area!
